Disordered Eating

All humans need to eat to survive, but that doesn't mean eating is always easy. Many people have a difficult relationship with food, which often also relates to a difficult relationship with one's body. Wanting to be thin, wanting to be fit, and living in a world of social media influencers and beautiful celebrities can take a toll on a person's eating habits.

Eating problems are highly associated with difficulties naviating emotions, and many problematic eating patterns are hidden from others. Eating can be tied up with shame. In therpapy, we can talk about these eating habits and try to cultivate a relationship with food and your body that is more sustainable for your long term mental health.
